Slapping on a little more compact powder and concealer that I usually apply, I took a double take in the bathroom mirror, and made my way out to my car from the office. The eye bags from back-to-back plans are finally surfacing and have chosen to place themselves on my face to be displayed, which is why the extra make-up tools are needed. Honestly though, getting out of the city congested traffic has become a routine for me that most people go through with numb feelings hoping that it was all just a big nightmare which would poof away once we open our eyes. I tried that couple of times, and I was still at my spot in the car, music blasting away. Annoyed of course. Deciding at an unplanned decision, some of us headed to Laundry Bar to catch Silent Scenery as an old friend of ours was playing a gig that night. I’ve never heard any of his music so in anticipation we made our way to the show. It isn’t everyday you get to see an old friend-turn-to-musician-who plays in a band now. It must come with age, the questions that I got that night most of the time was, “How was work?” I dread the time when I turn 30, and the questions may turn too “Are you married yet?” Let’s not go there. *~Faiz-Me-Old friend turn musician Ivan from Silent Scenery~* Exchanging name cards to a few familiar faces that were there for the performance as well that night, it was good catching up and exchanging work stories and information. *~Me & Stephy who is now working in the event industry-one that I have left finally since I was 16~* *~I squealed aloud when I saw him, I didn't know Jack was back from Sydney already~* *~Army of Three and Lead singer of An Honest Mistake-Darren & Me~* *~Me & Avril who now manages Car Crash Hearts~* However, the key highlight of the night wasn’t just a band show, it was one of our good friend’s birthdays, and we rushed to surprise him for he wasn’t expecting anything on the day itself from any of us. We waited for him to arrive, I glanced at my watch profusely that he was late and I was hoping to get home by midnight. I could feel my eye lids falling heavily and was yearning for a good night sleep for the next day was a working day. To amuse ourselves while other bands were playing, I decided to spread the Christmas lollypop cheer to the rest of my friends. Some was rather unwilling at first but politely obliged to my threats. I think it had something to do with my heels, 4.5 inches isn’t something to scoff at, mind you. Which reminds me, I overspend on shoes again last month. *~The bois with their lollypop~* Some was more than happy to take the picture, A little too happy if you ask me. We threw various poses at her and she played up to each poses. Yeah, to love Spongebob, you have to have no humiliation I suppose. *~The many faces of the ghetto within~* An hour before his birthday ended, he arrived with a big grin on his face as we sang the happy birthday song to him aloud. However too tired from work, I called it a night and headed home. *~With the birthday gift~* *~HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOSHUA, WITH <3 from us all~* Kicking off those heels that I obviously overpaid, I sank into slumber without even removing my make-up. No wonder zits are popping up like mushrooms. |
